Anonymous said: Your blog honestly infuriates me. I work with people with developmental disabilities, an agency specifically for people with autism as well as having a brother with autism. Of course people accept people with autism, but do you ENJOY having behaviors you cannot control? That prevent you from living full lives and having maladaptive behaviors that make you unable to be out in the community? There shouldn't be a reason to accept challenging behaviors when they could be targeted and lessened

While I’d care about what your autistic brother and the autistic people you work with might have to say, I couldn’t care less about what you think of my blog.

Of course, hiding behind the anonymous button to berate a stranger and spout disablist nonsense at them isn’t a challenging or maladaptive behaviour… (Maladaptive in the sense that evidently this person can’t cope with the concept that maybe autism doesn’t need to be pathologised and driven out of a person - even if that were possible).

  8. clearaswinterice said: @Anon You are a very rude person. You clearly don’t know how it is for us autistics. Maybe we don’t wanna be in the community because the community is horrible or uncomfortable to be in. Just let us be ourselves and do more research (½)
